WebP to JPG Converter
Turn WebP images into universally compatible JPGs. Free and private, right in your browser.
Why convert WebP to JPG?
Images saved from websites are often WebP, and not every app knows what to do with them. JPG works with practically every photo viewer, printer, email client and upload form, which makes it the safest choice when you need to share or reuse a picture.
JPG is also compact for photos, so you can keep file sizes reasonable while gaining compatibility.
How to convert WebP to JPG
Drop your WebP files above with JPG selected, choose a quality (85 is a good default) and click Convert All. JPG does not support transparency, so any transparent areas are filled with white.
Frequently asked questions
What happens to transparent areas?
JPG cannot store transparency, so Smushify fills transparent areas with white. If you need to keep transparency, convert WebP to PNG instead.
What JPG quality should I use?
80–90 keeps photos looking sharp with a reasonable file size. Lower values give smaller files with more visible compression.
Are my files uploaded anywhere?
No. Smushify converts everything inside your browser using WebAssembly. Your files are never sent to a server, so it is safe for private photos, client work and unreleased videos.
Can I convert many files at once?
Yes. Drop in as many files as you like, use "Format for all" and "Quality for all" to set every file in one go, then click Convert All and Download All.
