HEIC to PDF Converter

Turn iPhone photos of documents into one PDF that is small enough to send. Free and private.

Why convert HEIC to PDF?

iPhones save photos as HEIC. When you photograph a contract, a receipt or a form, the person asking for it usually wants a single PDF, and many computers and upload forms cannot open HEIC at all.

Smushify opens HEIC photos in any browser, on Windows, Android, Mac or iPhone, and puts each one on its own page. Each photo is resized to its page at print resolution, so ten photos make a PDF of a few megabytes rather than one too big to email.

How to convert HEIC to PDF

Add your HEIC photos, put the pages in order with the arrows, and choose A4, Letter, or each photo at its own size. The Document preset suits paperwork; turn on Greyscale for black-and-white pages, or set a target size such as 5 MB if the PDF has to fit an upload limit. Then click Build PDF.

Frequently asked questions

Why can't I open HEIC photos?

iPhones save photos as HEIC to save space, but Windows, Android and many apps and websites can't open it without extra software. Converting to JPG, WebP or PNG makes the photo open anywhere.

Will portrait photos stay the right way up?

Yes. Smushify reads the rotation stored in each HEIC file, so photos taken upright or sideways come out the way you saw them on your phone.

Why are PDFs from my phone so big?

Phones often put every photo into the PDF at full resolution. A 12-megapixel photo has several times more pixels than a printed page can show, so each page can be several megabytes. Smushify resizes each image to the page at print resolution first.

Can I sign the PDF or add text to it?

Smushify makes the PDF; to sign it, fill it in or add text, open it in SecureSignFree (securesignfree.com), our free PDF signing site.

Are my files uploaded anywhere?

No. Smushify converts everything inside your browser using WebAssembly. Your files are never sent to a server, so it is safe for private photos, client work and unreleased videos.
